Noceto, October, 10 2025 – Looking ahead to the clash with Sassuolo, on the second matchday of Serie A Women, Coach Giovanni Valenti said:
'Contro il Sassuolo ci sono tutte le condizioni per fare bene. Sarà una giornata di festa, non solo per noi ma per tutto il Parma Calcio femminile: ci saranno tre partite, prima giocherà la Primavera contro la Juventus e, dopo di noi, scenderà in campo la Seconda Squadra femminile in un esordio storico. Spero che tutti i tifosi e gli appassionati seguano queste partite!
Per quanto riguarda noi, non vedo l’ora che arrivi questa giornata: dovremo mettere in campo ciò che abbiamo provato in settimana. Siamo ancora nella fase iniziale del campionato, anche se siamo a tre mesi dall’inizio degli allenamenti. La Women’s Cup e la Coppa Italia ci hanno fatto capire il valore e il livello della Serie A.
Nonostante la prima uscita difficile sul campo della Roma, le ragazze stanno imparando a conoscersi e stanno lavorando bene. È bello che in squadra ci siano giocatrici di diverse provenienze: unite allo zoccolo duro delle ragazze che hanno conquistato la Serie A, stiamo formando un bel gruppo. La diversità è una ricchezza.
L’obiettivo della stagione è la salvezza. Sappiamo che il percorso sarà difficile, ma sono molto ottimista e fiducioso perché vedo la qualità del lavoro quotidiano delle mie giocatrici. Dovremo conquistarla con fatica, determinazione e umiltà, esprimendo la nostra identità.
Il Sassuolo? Un’altra squadra che rispettiamo molto. Viene da tanti anni di Serie A, ha giocatrici importanti, arriva da un buon pareggio con la Juventus e ha battuto il Milan in Women’s Cup. Dovremo giocarci le nostre chances davanti al nostro pubblico, tenendo conto delle qualità dell’avversario'.
'We have everything we need to do well against Sassuolo. It’s going to be a special day - not just for us, but for the entire Parma Calcio Women family. There will be three matches: the Primavera team will face Juventus first, and after us, the Second Team will play their first-ever league match. I hope all our fans and football lovers come out to enjoy the day!
As for us, I can’t wait for this game. We’ll need to put into practice what we’ve been working on during the week. We’re still at the start of the season, even though we've been training for three months. The Women’s Cup and Coppa Italia have already shown us the standard and intensity of Serie A.
Even though our first outing in Rome was a tough one, the team are getting to know each other and working really well. It’s great to have players from different background - together with the core group who earned promotion to Serie A, we’re forming a strong, united team. That diversity is a real strength.
Our main goal this season is to stay in the league. We know it won’t be easy, but I’m very optimistic and confident because I see the quality and commitment my players show every day. We’ll achieve our goals through hard work, determination, and humility, while staying true to our identity.
As for Sassuolo, we respect them a lot. They’ve been in Serie A for several years, have some very good players, drew with Juventus in their first match, and beat AC Milan in the Women’s Cup. We’ll have to play our game in front of our home crowd, keeping in mind the quality of our opponents.”
