Parma, 14 September 2023 - Catanzaro will be the Crociati’s next opponents, with the upcoming matchday five clash in Serie BKT scheduled for 16:15 CEST on Sunday 17 September at the Stadio Nicola Ceravolo in Catanzaro. Here are all the facts and figures you need to know ahead of the game:
• The last season the two teams met in Serie A – in 1989/90 – Parma beat Catanzaro both home and away. Across these two games, the Crociati scored six goals and conceded once.
• After winning their last away match in Catanzaro in Serie B (4-1, 26 November 1989), Parma could beat the Calabrian outfit twice in a row on the road for the first time in the competition.
• Following a draw and three consecutive wins, Catanzaro are currently top of the table alongside Parma. The Aquile del Sud have the opportunity to win four successive matches in a single Serie B season for the very first time.
• Should they win against Catanzaro, Parma would have 13 points from their opening five Serie B matches. This would represent the Crociati’s best-ever start to a campaign in the second division.
• Parma have won nine of their last twelve Serie B fixtures, with the remaining three matches having ended in draws (including the 0-0 stalemate with Reggiana in their last match). The Crociati haven’t gone two consecutive matches without winning in the competition since March (0-0 vs. Südtirol, a 2-0 defeat to Como).
• Adrian Bernabé’s next match will be the 50th time he’s played in a regular Serie B season. All of his appearances in Italy’s second tier have come with Parma. This campaign, the 22-year-old has scored two goals in four games, one more than he bagged in 29 matches during the regular season in 2022/23.
