COACH FABIO PECCHIA: ‘IT'S EVERYONE'S DUTY'

Collecchio, December 14, 2024 - Coach Fabio Pecchia's comments during the press conference at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio before our MD 16 fixture against Hellas Verona.

IT'S EVERYONE'S DUTY

It's been a bit of a longer week: Benedyczak is back available, Balogh has recovered and we'll see if he can be in the match. Against Verona we will have 5-6 forwards, so I could think about alternating Angelo, who is pushing a lot. It's therefore natural that he has matches below his usual performance, but the attitude and desire is always there. We'll see if he can play from the start or come in as a substitute. Sohm has been performing well and must continue. However, the responsibility must fall on everyone including the staff. At this moment, it is up to everyone to perform their duty.'

WE MUST BE READY FOR ANYTHING

‘There is a desire to compete and get a good result against Verona. The performance at the Tardini has always been there, even if sometimes the results don't go our way. We must not be satisfied - the way to win is to play well. To win you must have a solid mentality. It will be a physical game, a game of nerves, of tension, and we must be able to play it and be ready for anything. We have to work with the desire to go on the pitch to play and win. The rest must have little effect.Verona is not a weak team; I have seen what they can do and the quality of the squad. That's why we will have to put our full attention and energy into it. We want to show that we can do things even against teams that are not big.

IT'S DOWN TO US, NOT THE OPPONENT

The match against Inter left us feeling that we can do better. There must always be the desire to improve, because whoever the opponent, it's the things we do on the pitch that matter: our attitude, our mentality. The focus must be on ourselves first.'

VERONA IS PART OF MY HISTORY, PARMA IS THE PRESENT

Verona is part of my history. 101 games as a manager will mean a lot to me, because being part of a glorious club like Parma makes me happy and encourages me to raise the level of performance. The 100 appearances for Mihaila if he plays and the dry-spell? He's an attacking player. For someone who had an extraordinary impact in Serie A in the first part of the season it's not easy, but I have great faith in him. He must continue to work and manage these moments. He must push on.'
