Sebastien Frey

After developing as a player at Cannes, where he made his debut in Ligue 1 in 1997, he arrived in Italy after signing for Inter. In 2001, he joined Parma on a permanent deal as a replacement for Buffon, who had moved to Juventus.

He stayed at the Gialloblù for four seasons, winning the Coppa Italia during his first year at the Club.

Thanks to the saves he made in Parma’s relegation playoff showdown against Bologna in 2004/05, he definitively conquered the hearts of the Crociati faithful. His fantastic performance, which earned him a rating of 8, the man of the match award and the nickname “The Wall” from the Gazzetta dello Sport, helped Parma incredibly and unexpectedly avoid the drop.
