Maurizio Ganz

Maurizio Ganz

A product of Sampdoria’s academy, he made his Serie A debut with the Blucerchiati at just 17 years of age. After a season with Monza, he joined Parma in the 1989/90.

In that famous season, which saw the Crociati win promotion to the top flight for the first time ever, Ganz made 32 appearances and scored five goals. Two of these goals came at the Stadio Mirabello in Reggio Emilia in the 2-0 Derby win over Reggiana, which firmly etched his name into the fans’ hearts. After spells with various clubs in Serie A and B, he retired from his playing career in 2007 to begin life as a coach.
