Juan Sebastian Veron

A modern midfielder who was able to contribute in both attack and defence, Veron joined Parma in 1998 after a spell at Sampdoria, the first European team he played for.

The Argentine enjoyed a hugely successful career, during which he wore the shirts of Lazio, Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter after initially starting out at Estudiantes and Boca Juniors.

While at the Crociati, he became a key pillar of Coach Malesani’s midfield, making a significant contribution to two Parma triumphs in the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Cup.

Nicknamed “La Brujita” (“The Little Witch”) after his father, who had also been a footballer, he managed to conquer the hearts of the Crociati faithful despite the fact he only spent a single season at the Club.
