Fausto Salsano

Having grown up in the ranks of Pistoiese, he was bought by Sampdoria and took his first steps in professional football in an Empoli shirt. In 1982 he arrived at Parma on loan.

In his two seasons with the gialloblu, Salsano asserted himself and became one of the first names on the team sheet, making himself the main protagonist of the Serie C1 championship victory in the 1983/84 season.

After a variety of experiences with Sampdoria, Roma and Spezia, he retired from playing football in 2000, embarking on a career as a coach. Since 2018 he has been an assistant coach for the national team alongside Roberto Mancini.
