He arrived at Parma after spells at Torino, Inter and Juventus, and Dino Baggio perfectly embodied the modern midfielder. Gifted with physical strength and proficient in the air, he was also a versatile player who was able to lend a hand in both defence and attack. During his six seasons in Gialloblù colours, he won two UEFA Cups, one Supercoppa Italiana and one Coppa Italia. Thanks to his excellent performances, he regularly featured for Italy. He managed to win the Under-21 European Championship in 1991 and was part of the senior squad that finished runners-up at the 1994 World Cup. In total, he scored seven goals in 60 appearances for his country.
