Alessandro Melli

Born in Agrigento but a true Parmigiano in any sense of the word, Alessandro Melli was one of the most beloved strikers in Parma history.

He came through the ranks of the Gialloblù academy and made his first-team debut on 20 April 1986 with the Club still in Serie C.

He was a key figure in Parma’s promotion to Serie A in the 1989/90 season and scored the second goal in the Derby against Reggiana. During his time with the Crociati, he won one Coppa Italia title, one Cup Winners’ Cup and one UEFA Supercup, before going on to play for Sampdoria, AC Milan, Perugia and Ancona.

After retiring from his playing career in 2001, he was the Club’s Team Manager for ten seasons.
