Alessandro Lucarelli

He started out with Piacenza, before turning out for Leffe, Palermo, Brescia, Fiorentina, Livorno, Reggina and Genoa. Then, in 2008, he joined his brother Cristiano at Parma. In that very same season, he helped secure the Club’s promotion to the top flight.

After being named vice-captain, he was then made captain of the team during his sixth season with the Gialloblù. Wearing the captain’s armband in the heart of defence, he became a key figure in the Club’s greatest feat in recent history: from Serie D to Serie A in just three seasons. Nobody had ever done that before.

His ten-year spell at the Crociati wasn’t short on personal achievements. He’s the only player to have scored in Serie D, Lega Pro, Serie B and Serie A in a Parma shirt and, with 333 games played, he’s the Club’s all-time leading appearance-holder.

On 27 May 2018, with the Club celebrating a return to Serie A, he announced his retirement from football, becoming Parma’s Club Manager.
