Noceto, 15 October 2023 – On matchday four of the Women’s Serie B season, Parma Women ran out 4-2 winners at home to Res Roma VIII.

Sofia Kongouli opened the scoring in the 15th minute after quickly pouncing on a loose ball in the box, but the visitors equalised through Martyna Duchnowska on the 22-minute mark. The Crociate hit back three minutes later: captain Caterina Ambrosi got on the end of a Vivien Beil corner to head home her third goal of the season.

However, Parma’s lead didn’t last long, with Anna Clemente taking advantage of some poor defending to make it 2-2. Parma had the ball in the net in the 35th minute, but it was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper by Caterina Ambrosi. The teams thus went into the break on level terms.

After the restart, the Crociate started to pile in the pressure as Caterina Ferin (49’) and Caterina Ambrosi (58’) had efforts at goal and the number of corners continued to tot up. Following big penalty shouts for a possible foul on Anastasia Spyridonidou (85’) and a long-range attempt from Caterina Fracaros (89’), Parma took the lead in stoppage time: Ludovica Silvioni let fly with a fine strike from distance following a Crociate corner to make it 3-2. And then came the fourth on the counter as Anastasia Spyridonidou got the better of the impressive Viola Maurilli. After four matches, Parma sit on nine points in the Women’s Serie B division.
