Trento, 25 July 2026 – It was an entertaining evening of football at the Briamasco Stadium in Trento, where hosts Trento, Parma and Sassuolo faced off in a pre-season triangular tournament. The home side ultimately came out on top, while Parma took away plenty of positives as Carlos Cuesta rotated his squad and gathered further encouraging signs ahead of the new campaign.
In the opening match, goals from Capone and Aucelli secured a 2-0 win for Trento over Sassuolo. Parma then defeated Aquilani's side on penalties after Frigan and Valeri converted their spot-kicks. The final fixture between Parma and Trento ended 1-1, with Carboni cancelling out Fiamozzi's opener. Trento prevailed in the ensuing penalty shootout to seal the overall tournament win.

After the matches, Franco Carboni said:
'We're working hard, so these matches are exactly what we need. We want to improve on everything we did well last season. Personally, I'm feeling good and I'm always looking to help the team. My hope was to stay here, because I'm really happy to be at Parma. Scoring in pre-season is nice, but the most important thing is improving day by day and getting minutes into our legs. I'm working hard so that I'm available whenever the team needs me; we all want to keep growing together. As for my role, there are differences between playing in a back three and a back four, but there are strengths to both.'
