Alberto Gilardino spoke after the match:
“We started the first half well, but then we made a few mistakes and were punished for them. There are still positives to take, both from some individual performances and from the second half, because the players did everything they could to stay in the game. We fought hard and showed that we wanted to keep going right until the end. We know there are areas where we need to improve, and we’ll keep working on them.”
Diego Carlos also spoke after the match:
“We knew it would be a tough game, away to the Italian champions in a difficult stadium. We did make life harder for ourselves at times, but I still think there are positives we can take from the performance. With the new coach, we’re trying to build our own identity. We have quality players and we’re working hard to follow what he asks of us. We need to keep going in this direction because I think we’re on the right track.”
