PARMA vs INTER, VALENTI: ”A STRONG PERFORMANCE BUT A DISAPPOINTING RESULT”

Noceto, 15 February 2026 – After the defeat to Inter, coach Giovanni Valenti gave his thoughts:

“There’s some disappointment with the final result, but I’m very proud of the girls for their performance. When we play here in Noceto there’s always a great atmosphere and the team feels it, bringing that energy onto the pitch.

We were facing one of the strongest teams in the league, probably the one in the best form right now — today was their eleventh consecutive win. We came very close to what would have been an important and prestigious result. I have nothing to complain about; on the contrary, I congratulate the girls for what they showed.

It’s a pity about the penalty that reopened the game. After that moment we had to change our system, raised our pressing and trying to spend more time in the opposition half. We found the equaliser through Leskinen — congratulations to her – but that high press meant we were less secure at the back. There’s disappointment about conceding in the final minutes, but also awareness that the performance was there and that sooner or later our luck will turn; I believe the match could easily have ended in a draw. Congratulations also to Caterina Ambrosi for her first Serie A goal of the season.

Napoli? They’re the second-best team at the moment and are doing very well. We’ll bring the energy, enthusiasm and fighting spirit shown today. We’re a united and compact team and we’ll give our all.”
