“It really hurts when you concede in stoppage time. Once we’ve had time to cool off, we’ll look back at the game and see whether we feel more proud of the performance or frustrated about the result.

We’ve come on a lot, especially in front of goal. To go toe to toe and show real courage against a side that had won ten on the bounce says a lot about us.

The goal? It’s a brilliant feeling — as a defender you don’t get that too often! It’s nice to make a proper, tangible contribution to the team.

But there are loads of little things that don’t grab the headlines like a goal does — tracking back, taking a tactical foul, helping out a teammate. We do those things for each other all the time. The girls put that work in during the ninety minutes and all week in training. That’s why we keep improving, because we’re constantly pushing each other to raise our levels.”
