Rome, 12 May 2026 – Parma Calcio have won the inaugural edition of the “Fondazione Roma – Il Valore del Gioco” (The Valur of the Sport award), a recognition established by Fondazione Roma and Lega Serie A, given to the Serie A club that, over the course of the season, has distinguished itself for fairness, respect for the rules, and sporting ethics both on and off the pitch.
The award ceremony took place this evening in Rome during the “Charity Gala Dinner” organised by Lega Serie A ahead of the 2025/26 #CoppaItaliaFrecciarossa Final.
The award celebrates the club that has best embodied the values of sport through positive behaviour and a responsible and sustainable management model. The judging criteria is based on an objective framework linked to disciplinary measures issued by the Sporting Justice bodies during Serie A matches played between 28 November 2025 and 4 May 2026. The award also includes a €100,000 donation to an association chosen by the winning Club. Parma Calcio selected Associazione Cento Per Uno as the beneficiary, a fantastic organisation in the Parma region that coordinates the “Emporio Solidale” and “Parma non Spreca” projects, an integrated platform that has long focused on recovering and redistributing surplus food to more than 15,000 people living in poverty.
Recognition of the Club’s values
This award honours a project built day by day by the entire Gialloblù ecosystem: players, coaching staff, employees, and fans. A strong identity that reflects the vision of President Kyle J. Krause and the Club’s commitment to promoting positive, inclusive, and responsible football.
Throughout the season, Parma Calcio stood out for numerous social responsibility initiatives, with projects dedicated to inclusion, solidarity, local community development, and engagement with younger generations. These activities strengthened the bond between the Club and the community, reinforcing the social role of sports as a tool for growth and participation.
The Club’s environmental sustainability initiatives also played a key role through the PlayGreen project, which drove the Club to adopt measures to lower its environmental footprint and encourage sustainable behaviour and awareness.
The award was also earned as a result of the responsible and respectful conduct shown by the First Team and coaching staff throughout the season, as well as the exemplary attitude of the Gialloblù supporters, who backed the team with passion, respect, and a strong sense of belonging.
These were the words of CEO Federico Cherubini:
“Receiving this award is a source of great pride for the entire Club. The ‘Fondazione Roma – The Value of the Game’ award represents the value of the daily work carried out by every member of the Gialloblù family.
We strongly believe that football should set a positive example, one that can promote values of social impact to younger generations and promote inclusion.
This award belongs to our players, coaching staff, employees, partners, and supporters, who help build a healthy, respectful, and responsible environment every day.
Special thanks also go to Fondazione Roma and Lega Serie A for creating an award that highlights sporting ethics and social responsibility in Italian football.”
The “Fondazione Roma – The Value of the Game” award highlights the value of a virtuous model centred on ethics, responsibility, and respect, principles that have always guided Parma Calcio.
