MATCH PACK, MATCHDAY 16: PARMA VS. HELLAS VERONA

Parma, 12 December 2024 – At 15:00 CET on Sunday 15 December, Parma will face Hellas Verona at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on matchday 16 in Serie A. Here are all the stats you need to know ahead of the game:

  • Parma are unbeaten in seven of their last nine home matches against Hellas Verona in Serie A, picking up four wins (the last of which arrived on 4 October 2020 in the most recent top-flight encounter between the two sides at the Tardini) and three draws.
  • Parma have collected eight points at home in the league this season and, with a win, could equal the number they achieved at the Tardini throughout their previous campaign in Serie A (eleven in 2020/21).
  • Valentin Mihaila is the player who has had the most shots on target without scoring so far this Serie A season (six). His next appearance will be his 100th for Parma in all competitions.
  • Fabio Pecchia is set to face Hellas Verona as a coach for the first time since 1 October 2011; back then, he was in the Gubbio dugout in Serie B (the match finished in a 1-1 draw). Pecchia won promotion to Serie A with Verona in 2016/17 and coached them in 2017/18, a season where they finished 19th in the Italian top flight.

  • Hellas Verona have won six of their last nine Serie A matches against Pama (D1, L2) after previously achieving just thee victories from the opening nine meetings between the sides in the competition (D2, L4).
  • Out of the sides who didn’t draw any of their opening 15 matches at the start of a Serie A season in the three-points-per-win era, Hellas Verona are the team who have picked up the fewest number of points (twelve). In the last 50 years, only four teams didn’t draw any of their first 16 matches of a top-flight campaign: Juventus in 2016/17, Udinese in 2017/18, Fiorentina in 2021/22 and Inter in 2022/23.
  • No side has picked up fewer points than Parma against the teams currently in the bottom half of the table in Serie A: five (W2, D2, L1), the same as Venezia.
  • Hellas Verona have conceded the most goals in the opening 45 minutes across the Top 5 European divisions this campaign (25, five more than the next closest side, Holstein Kiel). Throughout Serie A history, only Padova in 1929/30 (28) and Bari in 1940/41 (27) have shipped more first-half goals across the opening 16 matchdays in a single season.
