“We started well, with the right intensity and following what we’d worked on during the week for what we knew would be a tough game. Then came the key moment (the red card), and from there we were up against a side that made the most of having an extra man. Eleven against eleven, it would have been a different match. We also had a few injuries. It’s a shame about the result because we began well and felt we could produce a strong performance.

Are we a team that always fights? Yes – we’ve shown grit and determination. Even though we’re a young side, in recent matches we’ve demonstrated character, we’re growing, and we’re understanding what it takes to stay in the top flight. We have to hold on to what we’ve built, because we’ve already shown we can compete at this level. This week we’ll go over what worked and what didn’t, and focus on improving and preparing well for the next match.”
