Castiglion Fiorentino (Arezzo), 25 March 2024 - Enrico Delprato received the third Premio “Gianni Di Marzio” (“Gianni Di Marzio” Prize) as part of the seventh edition of the Gran Galà dello Sport, organised by the Municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino. The Parma Calcio captain won one of the 10 awards that were handed out on an evening held at the Teatro Mario Spina.

Mayor Mario Agnelli had the following to say as he did the introductions: “I’m proud of the audience present tonight. We started this event seven years ago in memory of Corrado Viciani and Fabrizio Meoni. During the Gran Galà, we tell some great stories and talk about accomplished careers or promising young talents. And the latter is exactly what Delprato is.”

The Parma captain was delighted to receive his prize: “It’s an honour and an enormous pleasure. I didn’t have the good fortune and privilege of meeting Gianni, but I’ve been told he was a very charismatic person who never gave up. He was a true fighter, and I personally hope to display his values when I take to the pitch. It’s an honour to be here, and I would like to thank everyone who considered me for this prize, as well as Mayor Mario Agnelli for his fantastic welcome. Thank you to everyone. I’d also like to share this award with my teammates: without their support and that of Parma, I wouldn’t be here picking up the prize today.”

After a speech by Lega B President Balata via video message, it was the turn of the other award winners to take the stage, including Bologna coach Thiago Motta, who was handed the Corrado Viciani Prize. Gianni Bugno (Alfredo Martini Prize), Gioele Meoni (Fabrizio Meoni Prize), Andrea Giani (Vigor Bovolenta Prize), Andrea De Marchi (Federico Luzzi Prize), Enrico Chiesa (Bruno Beatrice Prize), Efrem Calamari (Mario D'Agata Prize), Giacomo Corona (Paolo Rossi Prize) and Alberto Polverosi (Mario Sconcerti Prize) also all received recognition.
