THE “WOMEN'S SECOND TEAM” IS BORN!

Parma, 26 August 2025 - Parma Calcio announces a great step forward for Women's Football. From October, the Club will be able to call on the 'Women's Second Team', who will take part in the Promozione league, a regional competition made up of 12 teams.


CEO Federico Cherubini commented on this, saying: 'The development of talent, within the Club, is a cultural aspect to create ambition and value. Today, we are the only team in Serie A Women to have a second team in an official competition, this is a source of great pride which pushes the club to always put forward an innovative vision. With the creation of a Women's Second Team, we are taking a pioneering step forward in a technical sense by introducing a new developmental structure, but, at the same time, the main objective is to offer young players the chance to achieve their dream in the world of football, whilst simultaneously reinforcing the position of Women's football as a true brand of our Club'.

The Women's Second Team will be based at Centro Sportivo 'Il Noce' in Noceto, which already hosts the Women's First Team and all eight teams from the Women's Youth Sector. The squad will include 22 players, from the ages of 16 to 20 years old, from Parma and the surrounding province. The coach will be Raffaele Policelli.


The Sporting Director for the Women's Area, Domenico Aurelio underlined the importance of this team: 'The creation of the Women's Second Team underlines our clear technical vision: building gradual path of development which is competitive, structured and allows the young players to mature in a professional environment and at the right level. It's a fundamental instrument to prepare the athletes for the First Team, bridging the gap between the Youth Sector and the and Serie A, without rushing their development'.



The Promozione league will begin in October. Final dates and times are still to be confirmed. The Women's Second Team will play their home games at 'Il Noce' in Noceto.
