Parma, 28 June 2026 – Great results and a genuine commitment to the future: the 2025/26 season has come to an end with the PlayGreen project reaffirming Parma Calcio's dedication to environmental and social sustainability.
The figures from waste separation at the Ennio Tardini Stadium and the Club's food waste policy, developed through its partnership with the Parma non Spreca association, highlight how small actions can make a meaningful difference, reinforcing the Club's commitment to using resources more responsibly.
At a time when more families are facing financial hardship and climate change demands greater responsibility from everyone, football can also become a platform for supporting local communities and driving positive change.
During the season, 61% of the waste collected at the stadium was separated for recycling, while the remaining 39% was general waste, from a total of 6,100 kg collected during half-time and after matches. This achievement was also made possible by the active participation of supporters, who made use of the dedicated recycling bins located both inside and outside the stadium. In detail, the waste collected consisted of: 1,430 kg of organic waste (23%), 690 kg of plastic (11%), 1,580 kg of paper (26%), and 2,400 kg of general waste (39%).
The Club's food recovery initiative was even more impressive. During the first five months of 2025, 405.5 kg of food was donated to the Parma non Spreca association, turning what would otherwise have gone to waste into valuable support for those most in need. Among the donated items were 64.5 kg of cakes and desserts, followed by 43 kg of bread, 42 kg of potatoes, 39 kg of lasagne, 27 kg of cured meats, 25 kg of pasta, and 24 kg of potatoes and sausage.
These figures represent the first tangible results of the PlayGreen project and point to a clear objective: encouraging more sustainable decisions, reducing the environmental impact of sporting events, and strengthening the bond between Parma Calcio, its supporters, and the local community.
