After an evenly balanced first half ended goalless, Napoli broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute through Faurskov, who had only come on a few minutes earlier.

Giovanni Valenti reflected on the game after the final whistle: “We started brightly and created a chance inside the opening minute, but we weren’t able to make it count. After that, we lost a little ground and came under more pressure up until the cooling break. We adjusted our pressing after the restart, pushed higher up the pitch and gave them less space. I thought we finished the first half well, and we also created another good opportunity. We began the second half strongly too and created three chances, but then we gradually dropped deeper again. The goal we conceded came from a fairly isolated situation.My feeling is that we still need to bring a few players back up to speed, while others need a little more time to adapt. They’re starting to understand what it takes to play in Italy and to deal with matches of this kind. From that perspective, the Women’s Cup has been a very useful experience for us. Coppa Italia? We’ll go into it with great determination and a strong desire to progress to the next round. Milani and Musumeci making their debuts? They’re two young players who have been training extremely well, and I believe they both have a very promising future ahead of them.
