Verona, 27 February 2026 – Nicola Corrent spoke after Parma’s 1-0 win away to Verona on Matchday 8 of the Primavera 1 return round.

“This win is very important, because it wasn’t a given that we would react immediately after a heavy home defeat to Bologna, especially on a difficult pitch against a team that hadn’t lost since November. I have to congratulate the boys. In the first half we played at a very good level and could have taken an early lead. We struggled at times with their playing style, particularly when facing their aggression and on second balls, but we always defended in an organised way, even in the closing minutes. They had one big chance, though even then, the ball was going wide – I won't focus too much on that. It was a win built on character and personality, one that helps us continue further along our path. Now we recover, because on Wednesday we face Inter. It will be a different kind of match technically, but just as complicated. We’ll prepare in the best possible way, as always. Compliments to the boys — we’re happy and we keep going. I’m also pleased because today is my daughter Nora’s fifth birthday. She told me to win against Verona, so I suppose we’ve given her a small gift as well.”
