Noceto, Monday 26 January 2026 – Parma Primavera coach Nicola Corrent spoke after the 1–1 draw against Torino.
“The draw against Torino leaves a bitter taste because we were ahead, there were only a few minutes left, and we had an extra man. Clearly, we wanted to win. Credit to Torino, though: they played very well and caused us a lot of problems. We created plenty of chances that we failed to convert today, and that’s disappointing because the lads gave everything and we came away with just a point. Still, this has to be a lesson for us. Were Plicco, Tigani and Ciardi big absences? We were missing a few players, so even in terms of substitutions and options we were short of energy. But everyone who played today did well. In certain areas we lacked a bit of an edge; in one-on-one situations, some players can really make the difference. That said, we played the game we wanted to play. We created chances and took a few risks because, regardless of Torino’s position in the table, they were coming into this match on an eight-game unbeaten run. They’re a strong side and we knew that. Now we move forward with composure and calm, as always, and we take this point. Away to Frosinone on Saturday? They’re a team playing very well against everyone. This league keeps showing that nothing is a given: every team is well equipped and every match is different. We’ll prepare as we always do. Diop? He’s a player who’s growing and we need to trust him. His level of understanding is still a bit behind Mengoni’s, who had another very good game today when called upon. Cardinali? He demands a lot from himself and puts in huge effort. Today he lacked a bit of sharpness and clarity in the final third, but he’s always dangerous. He needs to stay calm — he’s already scored plenty of goals and provided assists.”
