Collecchio, 19 August 2025- Midfielder Oliver Sørensen’s remarks, made during his presentation press conference in the press room of the Mutti Training Centre in Collecchio, attended by Chairman Federico Cherubini.
I CAN PLAY IN ANY POSITION IN MIDFIELD
“I’ve already played a few games with Midtjylland, so I feel like I’m in good physical form. Of course, the main difference here is the temperature: in Denmark, it was much cooler while here I’ve really felt the heat, a very different climate impact. I was very warmly welcomed by the team, and I already feel like I’m in shape. As for my role on the pitch, I think I have the qualities to play in every midfield position. The left-sided mezz’ala is more about attack, while the right-sided one is a little less attack-centred, but I believe I can play both roles. I think I can cover all three positions in midfield. The goal for everyone is to provide assists and score, and that’s my aim as well. My play is based on a lot of running and making runs into the box, where anything can happen. Last year, I did that a lot and scored a lot of goals. To carry on with it this year, I’m training to strengthen the basics with both feet. My celebration? One day, I was bored, watching some videos on YouTube, and I saw Jan Vertonghen celebrate a goal like that. I thought it was a cool celebration. I tried it once, and from then on, I decided to repeat it every time I score.
MY GOAL IS TO KEEP IMPROVING
I want to play as much as possible, but I know this squad is very talented. My aim is to make my contribution and have an impact on this team overall. I want to do what my coach has asked of me. I need to learn how to play here and understand Italian football, but I think I’ve already made a good start, and I’m learning every day. As I said earlier, I’ll always try to give it my all and to do my best. I’ll do whatever the coach asks of me and, as I mentioned, I’ll contribute to this team. Andreas Cornelius? I haven’t spoken to him because Midtjylland and his former team, Copenhagen, are big rivals… so I’ve never had the chance to talk to him.”
