Florence, 8 March 2026 – Coach Carlos Cuesta commented after Fiorentina vs. Parma, on matchday 28 of Serie A Enilive.
“We’re happy with our performance. Our second half was completely different from our first as we found momentum in the game. At the start, we struggled to move past our half, but after the 15th minute, we defended well and also pressed to make way in theirs. While we didn’t create many chances, in the second half, when they pressed harder, we came closer to scoring. But we just couldn’t bring the level of danger we needed. Earning a point here was never going to be easy against such a strong team. We’ll take the point because it all counts on our journey. That said, we know we need to improve, and there’s not long until we take on Torino. In terms of the attacking changes, Pellegrino and Strefezza were doing an incredible amount of work. Covering so much ground, winning duels, and progressing the ball is tough, but the players on the bench were ready to step in. Cremaschi is a perfect example of hard work paying off. He’s versatile and can play multiple roles, originally a mezzala. Today he had an excellent match, both offensively and defensively. He earned this opportunity through training, the right attitude, and giving his all, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Another step forward? Yes, we always strive to win. We’ll take the point, but we know there’s a lot of work to do, and Torino will be a big challenge. The match went through different phases: they started stronger, and we struggled initially, but after the 15th minute, we seemed more dangerous. We kept compact, defended as a team, and kept ourselves in the game. That spirit and solid attitude made the difference. We strive to improve every day, taking it one step at a time, training hard, and head into the match against Torino ready to earn points.”
