CARLOS CUESTA: ”NOT UP TO STANDARD TODAY”

Parma, 21 March 2026 - Carlos Cuesta had the following to say after Parma’s home defeat to Cremonese today:

“The feeling is that we weren’t up to the standard today. It wasn’t a matter of attitude – we should have been at a higher level overall. I take full responsibility and now I need to find ways to help the lads even more. We’ll use the international break to clear our heads; we have to remember that our objective hasn’t been achieved yet and that there’s still a lot of work to do. Eight very difficult games lie ahead, and we’ll focus on what’s most important. We want to get back on track, starting with the match against Lazio.

“In the first half, we failed to make the most of the opportunities after regaining possession. We weren’t in control of the game, and the times we had the ball, we didn’t make an impact. In the second half, after taking the lead, they dropped deeper. We had more space but still weren’t dangerous enough. We take responsibility, me first and foremost. Cremonese’s change of coach? We’re not looking for excuses. We need to analyse the situation carefully, rediscover our strengths, and move forward.”
