COACH CARLOS CUESTA: “WE'RE BUILDING AN IDENTITY BASED ON SPIRIT, WE WANT TO BE COMPETITIVE”

Collecchio, 23 August 2025 - Carlos Cuesta spoke to the press during his presentation press conference in the press room and the Mutti Training Centre in Collecchio, ahead of the first game of the season against Juventus.

THE FIRST GAME AGAINST JUVENTUS

I'm expecting to face a very competitive and organised Juventus side. Under Coach Tudor, I've seen the side grow and display a clear identity, I see a side in evolution so it will definitely be a difficult match. They will fight right until the end for the league title, I'm expecting a team with lots of quality. Spending a unique experience in Turin was an honour, it was a great year with lots of great people and many relationships made. It was a university for me, an opportunity to have a fantastic year. However, the only thing I have in mind is a brilliant performance tomorrow'.

CARLOS CUESTA'S PARMA

We want to build a competitive team with a clear identity. Injuries? You can't control what happens in life, what you can control is the way you react. We want to be as competitive as possible and always be the best version of Parma in every match. We need to be ourselves, we're building our style of play and we need time. We want to build an identity based on spirit, approaching the matches with courage and the desire to always do our best against anyone. There's always enthusiasm and, in the same way, focus on how we should prepare ourselves in the best way possible for the clash. We're absolutely focussed on competing in the best way on Sunday'.

PRESIDENT KYLE J. KRAUSE'S ENERGY

We had lunch together and the only thing that the President wants is to grow Parma in the best way possible. Even when he is not there, you feel his presence and availability. You can tell that he has a lot of passion for this club and it's great to have had chance to meet him and have him by our side before the first match. His energy will definitely help us to do our best'.

THE IDENTITY OF THE GIALLOBLÙ

Football changes a lot, for me, an identity means a way to approach the game and be organised at all times. It means being compact and understanding the moments, how we will live with them, how we want to play and how we know how to play. The new arrivals are adapting and we're trying to speed up the adaptation process as much as possible. Above all, it's how I see the team, they work with lots of desire, with enthusiasm and the right spirit. This. is fundamental for me. I'm thinking about preparing myself in the best way and preparing for the game tomorrow in the best way. I don't think about hypothetical things and expectations'.

LØVIK'S GROWTH AND THE FLANKS

Løvik has played on the left and right in his development. In Norway, he was used to playing on the right, he's versatile so it gives us some options to cover different roles. In this case, we're concentration on what we have so that we can use the quality of our players to our advantage. We're concentrated on putting in a big display tomorrow. There have been changes out wide, depending on the time and the match we will try to choose the most suitable option possible for how we want the team to play. We're in a period of growth and adaptation, a constant evolution. On other days, it's been said that the squad is being built, but my only focus now is the match in Turin and putting in the best display possible'.

THE STRENGTH OF THE FANS

For us, the ideal thing would be to always have the fans by our side, even if they're not present, we will feel them. We saw a great atmosphere at the Tardini, despite the warmth during Ferragosto. The ideal thing is obviously to have them by our side because their energy will help us to put on the best display possible'.
