COACH FABIO PECCHIA: “WE'LL DO EVERYTHING TO WIN OUR LAST GAME“

Collecchio, 9 May 2024 - Ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Reggiana, Coach Fabio Pecchia had the following to say during his pre-match press conference at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio:

THE GAME

“We consider it to be a real opportunity for all of us. After all that we’ve done, we’re feeling really enthusiastic and relaxed as we head into it. Nevertheless, we’ll be up against a good side, and it’s a great match for both ourselves and our fans. We want to continue to build a winning mentality and play with the same attitude that has made us successful. Beyond the technical and tactical side of things, how we do from a mental and psychological perspective will make the difference. We want to win every game and have managed to come away with a lot of victories. Obviously, we’ll do everything on Friday, too. We’ll then see how it plays out on the pitch.”

THE TEAM’S CONDITION

“We’ve trained and had a few days to recover. We pushed hard today and will have another session tomorrow. I have almost the entire squad at my disposal, apart from Balogh, who is suspended, and Benedyczak, who is injured. Those who have enough energy to play don’t need to do anything in particular; we just need to carry on what we’ve been doing in terms of our attitude and philosophy.”

THE FUTURE

“Serie A? The cycle, working group and team will continue. When it comes to our project, hard work is required to achieve our objectives. It’s all the result of planning, continuity and unity of purpose. We have a young group with a clear idea and philosophy. Now, we can all raise our arms to the sky in satisfaction. For me, this work started 22 months ago, but the Club and the directors that were here before I arrived have been working towards this even longer.”

A DIFFICULT AND COMPETITIVE LEAGUE

“We’ve achieved our objective in an extraordinary manner: three teams will finish with 70+ points and we arrived at this tally in a really tough league with three games to spare. We celebrated after our last game but could have won it: the lads produced a fantastic performance, and we have every opportunity to repeat it tomorrow.”

EMBRACING THE FANS AND CITY

“What I’ve noticed - and this was evident on Sunday - is the involvement of the entire city, with which we have a great bond. We came out of the Tardini and found ourselves among our people - fans, families and children. This was the best thing and served to highlight what we’ve been able to create in these past few months. Everything was fantastic, but there’s still one more game to play. After that, we’ll go again and continue to work.”
