EMANUELE VALERI: “WE CAN’T GET DISCOURAGED”

Parma, 29 November 2025 - Emanuele Valeri had the following to say after Parma’s 2-0 defeat at home to Udinese on matchday 13 of the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive season:

“We knew Udinese are a physical side and that we’d have to cope with that. In the first half, we probably lacked a bit of balance: we didn’t play our best football, and their aggression caused us problems. In the second half, we came out better and played well, even though the sending-off affected the game. Even down to ten men, we never gave up.

“In the end, that’s how it went, but we can’t get discouraged. We came off a solid win in Verona, and there’s still a long way to go this season. What can we take from this defeat? Experience, above all. Beyond the penalty and the red card, and how the game might have gone differently, it’s all valuable for the matches ahead.

“As I said, we’re not giving up: we have the Coppa on Thursday and another important game on Monday, a six-pointer against Pisa. My return to the starting XI? I played a few minutes against AC Milan and Verona, so starting again gives me confidence and helps me get more minutes under my belt.

“Am I dreaming of an Italy call-up? Right now, I’m focused on getting fully fit and giving my all for Parma. Of course, if a call-up comes, I’d be delighted – it’d be the result of hard work.”
