CRISTIAN CHIVU: “THE BOYS WERE GREAT AND ARE DETERMINED TO STAY IN SERIE A”

Parma, 18 May 2025 - Cristian Chivu's words after Parma 0-0 Napoli on Serie A Enilive 2024/25 Matchday 37.

I celebrated the boys' effort, they were great, especially in the first half. Then we lost a bit of energy and we struggled to find the right changes, as we are in a bit of an emergency, so we must adapt. We have players who have only trained for one day, but we have to play them. I want to thank them as they always make themselves available and they give their all. From when I began this adventure, I said we had 13 finals to go and now there's only one left. I am happy and proud of the boys' effort, as they always give everything and try to bring points home with their knowledge of football. I want to praise the boys as we are in this situation, in this point of the season, where two months ago people probably thought we had no chance, and besides our last game, we have done really and are determined to stay in Serie A. The red card? I said sorry to the boys, I am the typical fool who gets into a fight and gets hit from all sides. Honestly I didn't do anything, I got involved to separate something up, with good will, trying to prevent something that seemed messy. And in the end I was sent to the stands. I am sorry as the boys will definitely need me on Sunday, so I apologise to everyone but honestly I didn't do anything and I was only trying to separate it all up. Leoni? I want to praise him, but also Balogh and Ciracti, who played his first game since his injury. Giovanni had a very mature performance against a strong player like Lukaku. We all know what he represents in world football, and Leoni finished the game with his head held high, more mature and more aware of his qualities. I predict this boy will have a big future, and he deserves it after today, although I would have liked to say something to him. I tried to say something to him, to do a few things, but also Balogh and Circati were equally good today'.
