CHRISTIAN ORDOÑEZ: “A VERY UNITED TEAM, I WANTED TO COME HERE”

Collecchio, 16 July 2025 – Our new midfielder, Christian Nahuel Ordoñez, spoke about his feelings during his presentation at the Mutti Training Centre press room in Collecchio, with CEO Federico Cherubini in attendance.

PARMA IS A GREAT CLUB

'I had a really good first impression, I met a great group, I really wanted to come here and I can feel the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt. However, it will be gradual, step by step. The infrastructure here at Parma is excellent. I chose to come here as Parma is a great club, Mateo told me great things and then it's also true that many Argentinians came here and did well. Parma is the best way to start my career.'

HELPING THE TEAM

This season's goal is to help the team and my teammates as they are a very united group: we are a family. My strength is definitely my running and I will definitely help the team in that sense. The transfer was sorted in January, but I arrived later so I had to wait a little. I was anxiously following Parma's final games as I really wanted to come here. We reached our goal, and now I am here, I want to pay back the faith that the team put in me by helping to keep us in this position (Serie A). Serie A is one of the best leagues in the world, and there are around seven teams that fight for first place. This surprised me and it proves the quality of Italian football. As I said, the goal is to help Parma to reach their goals'.

THE APPROACH WITH CUESTA

The manager presented himself in the first session and he asked us to be like a family, meaning being united on the pitch. Then he asked us for speed, high pressing and, of course, scoring lots of goals. Young age changes nothing. Cuesta is a great manager, so we will try and do all that he asks of us, also because he has the best intentions for the Club. Then, I spoke mostly with Mateo as I played with him at Velez. I want to make my contribution with the Argentinian style, and I want to show this on the pitch'.

“EL TRACTOR” AND HIS IDOLS

The nickname (El Tractor) came from the first club that I played for (Vélez Sarsfield). It's due to the fact that I can go back and forth on the pitch; this is probably the main reason for the nickname, however I did also receive a lot of yellow cards, this could have influenced it too. My idols? In general, when I was younger I liked Leo Ponzio for his dirty and aggressive play, but that changed as I grew up. Now my idols are Enzo Fernandez and Alexis Mac Allister”.
