Alberto Gilardino's post-match comments:
“We were very poor in the first half-hour. We were too afraid, too slow to react to second balls, and left too much space between the lines.
“Towards the end of the first half, we showed character and responded well. That carried into a positive 20-25-minute spell in the second half. Overall, though, we did too little across the game to deserve a different result. We must take the positives from it and build on the start of the second half.”
Enrico Delprato's comments:
“We compromised the game in the first 30 minutes by conceding two goals. There was a good response in the second half, but just when we were playing at our best, their goal knocked the wind out of our sails. It's frustrating. We need to take an honest look at ourselves, understand where we went wrong, and move forward together, bringing the enthusiasm and desire that have always defined us.”
