Parma, 24 May 2026 – Alessandro Circati spoke after Parma’s 1-0 win over Sassuolo on the final day of the Serie A Enilive season.

“In the first half, we created several chances in quick succession. Mateo then did really well to score in the second half. You don’t necessarily play better with less pressure – on the one hand you’ve got nothing to lose, but on the other you can sometimes lack motivation. From my point of view, every game has to be approached with the desire to win.

“It was lovely to see the fans at the final whistle – a great way to finish in front of them. I’ll go to the World Cup with an even bigger smile thanks to this match. The coach has had a great season and done really well, especially in his first experience as a head coach. He deserves a lot of credit. We went into every game looking to win, knowing every team plays differently, and we always gave everything.

“Overall, it’s been a very positive season. Our aim was to stay up and we achieved that with four games to spare. I really like the energy in this team – we’ve got plenty of drive and we push ourselves every day. Personally, I’m proud of my season and I’m happy I was able to play consistently after last year’s difficulties.”
