Parma, 24 May 2026 – Parma wanted to end the season on 45 points, just as head coach Carlos Cuesta had said before the match. And that is exactly what the Gialloblu achieved, thanks to a 1-0 win over Sassuolo on the final day. Parma started brightly and threatened several times in the first half through Nicolussi Caviglia (3’), Pellegrino (6’), Valeri (11’), Valenti (20’) and Keita (39’). Sassuolo attempted to fight back, but Parma stayed compact and never really looked under pressure.
After the break, Turati produced an outstanding save to deny Nicolussi Caviglia (62’), before Almqvist almost broke the deadlock with a curling effort across goal (77’). It was the Swede himself who delivered the cross for Mateo Pellegrino’s ninth Serie A goal of the season, with the forward rising to head home the winner and settle the contest. Having already secured survival with four games to spare, Carlos Cuesta’s Parma closed the season on 45 points, receiving a warm ovation from more than 17,000 fans at the Tardini.
