Vinovo, 8 April, 2026 – Coach Nicola Corrent spoke after the Coppa Italia Primavera semi-final against Juventus.
'There was a huge sense of disappointment, a lot of frustration, because going out just one step from the final, with five minutes to go, is really hard to take. You could see it hit the boys hard, the whole team, the staff, everyone, because we really cared about it. I think we had an outstanding run, and the game itself was very balanced and hard-fought. We had our chances to score, and so did they. In moments like this, it’s not easy to find the right words to lift them and remind them of what they’ve achieved. Tomorrow they’ll rest, as planned regardless of the result. But we also need to hold on to the belief that the work we’ve done over the past two years has been exceptional, and that’s one of the things that makes me most proud to coach this group. From Friday, we’ll switch our focus back to the league. We’ve still got six very tough games ahead, and everything is very tight. We’ll keep giving our all, as always, because this is a team with real technical quality, but above all a group of players who truly care. Seeing them in tears after the match against Juve was really tough, but at the same time, it also meant something, because it shows we’ve built something important.'
