It was a gesture that was neither constructed nor emphasised, but one that naturally emerged from the match footage, quickly gaining attention across social media as well as national and international outlets, alongside the invaluable coverage of local media. A spontaneous story that resonated precisely because it was genuine.

The decision not to promote the episode directly through the Club’s official channels came from this very intention: to allow the facts to speak for themselves, without risking turning a moment of integrity into a self-referential narrative.

Yet the significance of what happened was recognised everywhere. Not only as a sporting episode, but as a concrete demonstration of principles that go beyond the pitch: respect, fairness and responsibility. And it made us extremely proud.

These are values that Parma Calcio 1913 promotes every day, and which find their fullest expression in gestures like this one. Values also shared by the Club’s ownership and President Kyle J. Krause, who wished to meet the team to congratulate them both on the episode and on their well-deserved league title.
