Parma, 21 March 2026 - CEO Federico Cherubini had the following to say following Parma’s home defeat to Cremonese on matchday 30 in Serie A Enilive.
“The whistles? What happened at the end of the game was deserved. There’s nothing to say about that; I think it’s normal for the fans to express their feelings and passion after a performance like the one today. We have to stay united and remember that, for those who thought the target was close, it’s actually still far away. I said it last week before the Torino game: the goal is still distant and difficult to reach.
“We need to stay focused for the last eight games. Certainly, we’ve just come off two very poor performances. Reaching our target will be extremely difficult. The international break comes at the right time for us, giving us a chance to rebuild the spirit that helped us collect 34 points – a significant tally, but still not enough to achieve our goal.
“Our attitude needs to change compared to the last two matches, because until then it was always positive. Cremonese deserved the win today – I don’t know if they were hungrier than us – but we must have that hunger too, because our objective is far away. We’ve done a lot to get to this point, and we cannot now put at risk the sacrifices we’ve made. We have two months ahead, and we must finish the season in the best possible way.
“The environment? It has always been a positive factor for us. Last season, it helped us secure safety, and this campaign the fans have never failed to support us. It’s only fair that today they showed their discontent, but I’m convinced that after a different performance, they’ll be the first to stand by the team.
“The 34 points? Those results were achieved through great team spirit. We’re fortunate to have players like Pellegrino, who have real quality and put it at the service of the team. I believe Parma cannot rely on individuals alone but must lean on the spirit of the group – the same spirit that helped us survive last year and must carry us to safety again this season.
“There were no excessive whistles today; what happened was a spontaneous reaction from the fans at the final whistle, and given today’s performance, it’s understandable. There are still two months left, eight matches to play, and our target remains distant and difficult. I hope the break helps us recover our spirit.
“It’s not my job to interfere with tactical decisions or the coach’s choices, but to call on everyone in our environment to restore the spirit and humility that has brought us the results so far. Now is not the time for placing blame or assessing responsibility, but to look for solutions to finish the season in the correct manner, in line with the club’s expectations and what this city deserves.”
