Collecchio, 26 Febraury, 2026 - Coach Carlos Cuesta spoke during the press conference, ahead of the Serie A Enilive Matchday 27 clash against Cagliari, that took place in the Press Conference Room at the Mutti Training Centre in Collecchio.
TOWARDS CAGLIARI
“This week I’ve seen a team fully focused on tomorrow’s game. We need to concentrate on ourselves and on our growth as a team. Compared to the Milan match, Circati is back, while Suzuki will return to the squad. He has been out for a long time, so we’ll assess his involvement day by day. We analysed the last game as we always do, looking at what we did well and where we can improve. We know there’s still a lot of work to do, and the players are aware of that. They’re focused and committed in every training session.
Our goal is to keep building and improving. We approach every match with confidence and the ambition to take points. Ultimately, our results depend on our performances.”
THE OPPONENT
“Cagliari are a strong team, so it’s going to be a tough game. We’ll need to be smart in understanding the key moments and make the most of the chances we get. Pisacane? I’ve met him a few times, and he seems like a great person with a big heart. He’s proving that on the pitch too, and it’s not for me to judge the way he works.”
CONFIDENCE IN THE SQUAD
“We understand how important every minute of every game is. We’re competitive in every position, and I have full trust in the players. We’re a united group, and everyone clearly knows the goals for the season.
Strefezza? He’s a versatile player, he played one way against Verona and differently against Milan. In attack, he can make a difference in many positions. Keita is also going through an important growth period. He has improved a lot but still has room to develop. He can play in different roles in midfield and get strong results. Frigan? He’s still working individually, so we need a little more patience before he returns to full training with the team.
We have to maintain high standards, keep earning points, improve in every aspect, and stay focused only on what we can control.”
