“There’s some disappointment because I don’t think the scoreline fully reflects the way the match played out and, in some ways, it’s harsh towards us. We conceded from a set piece in the 12th minute, but up to that point we had been controlling the game. Dead-ball situations often prove decisive. After going behind, we created several chances to equalise and, just as we were at our best, the second goal came. It’s also frustrating to think about Di Stefano hitting the post, because that could have changed the game. We showed courage in possession, won corners and free kicks in wide and central areas, and created opportunities in open play. What we needed was a bit more determination in the final third. Roma? They’re a very strong side and top of the table. We’ll try to give our best: today we couldn’t do that in terms of the result, but on Sunday we’ll give everything in front of our fans. They supported us again today and I want to thank them.”
