Parma, Saturday 25 October 2025 – midfielder Hernani Jr spoke after the goalless draw with Como on Matchday 8 of Serie A.
“I feel positive about this result. Even in Genoa, in a tough game, our attitude and spirit was right. If we keep playing with that mindset, we’ll get closer to the performances we want against strong sides like Como. The team showed real unity today – everyone’s pulling in the same direction. I try to pass on what I’ve learned in my career to the younger players, and they're showing great maturity and awareness.
We know exactly what the Club is building, and the work is going in the right direction. I’m really pleased for the coach: he transmits so much energy and confidence, and the players respond to that. You can see the progress.
Of course, I always try to help the team in any way I can, and if that means scoring, all the better. But the most important thing is our collective growth. Just like in Genoa, we showed signs of improvement today. The younger boys are eager to learn, and that’s the best part of football – always learning and developing together.
It’s a team effort: we can’t just rely on Patrick or Pellegrino to do the hard work up front. Matches like this build belief and awareness for what’s ahead. Como are a strong side, and we went toe-to-toe with them. We might even have deserved a little more, but this point is valuable for us.
The coach? He’s excellent. He brings so much energy and belief to the group, and that gives us confidence every day.”
