PARMA CALCIO WOMEN'S SECOND TEAM: HISTORIC DEBUT VICTORY IN THE COPPA EMILIA

Parma, 22 September 2025 – A date that will go down in the history of Parma Calcio Women. Yesterday, on Sunday 21 September, the club’s Women’s Second Team played – and won – their first official match, marking the beginning of a unique project in Serie A Women’s football. Parma are, in fact, the only club to field a Women’s Second Team registered in the national competitions.

In the opening match of the Coppa Emilia group stage, Raffaele Paolicelli’s side claimed a 4-1 victory away to San Nicolò. Beyond the scoreline, their success was a statement about the path this team has set out on.

Despite conceding the opening goal, the Gialloblù responded with maturity, determination, and quality football, overturning the deficit to make it 2-1 before half-time. In the second half, Parma extended their lead, adding two more goals and closing out the contest with authority.

An opening performance that demonstrated the excellent work put in over the past few weeks. Since 25 August, the Second Team has been training under coach Raffaele Paolicelli, developing the young squad (the majority aged 16-20) into a solid, united group, capable of facing challenges with composure and character.

The creation of this team is a key pillar of Parma Calcio Women’s technical vision: to offer young players a gradual, structured pathway that takes them from the youth academy to the First Team, within a professional and competitive environment, without rushing individual development.

Parma’s journey in the Coppa Emilia will continue on Sunday 5 October against Fraore, following a rest weekend while awaiting the other group fixture. Their league debut is scheduled for Sunday 12 October.

A first step, then, that fills the club with pride and officially opens a new chapter in the history of Parma Calcio Women.
