“First of all, credit to San Marino, who an organised team and played a good match. We started off a bit slowly, but as the game went on, we upped the ante and improved. The set piece was important in breaking the deadlock, and right after that we managed to score two more goals. Keeping a clean sheet was important to us – we believe a solid defence should be one of our main strengths, and we achieved that, so we’re satisfied.

In the second half, I would have liked to have seen more chances created, but the team maintained the right mindset. Those who came on showed commitment and professionalism, which I never doubted, and I expect the same level throughout the season. We’ve had a good pre-season, which we’ll wrap on Saturday with a friendly against Como. Between the friendlies, the Coppa Italia, and the Women’s Cup, we’ve had the chance to get to know each other, work together, and settle into the level of the competition. I’m happy with the progress so far, and our goal is to keep growing by December, both as individuals and as a team.”
