It wasn\u2019t one of our best days in terms of build-up play, and we took risks in the second half. But in some aspects it was one of our most positive performances. In other areas, not so much. A lot depends on the context. We need to understand why things happen and how to take the most positive lessons possible into the remaining matches.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n AFTER ROMA AND THE FUTURE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe sporting director (Cherubini) spoke with complete honesty – he told the truth. I don\u2019t understand why people want to create drama; he said exactly the same things I said. We\u2019re focused on the present because we want to finish as high as possible. Afterwards, as happens at every club, evaluations are made and decisions are taken on how to move forward. What we all want is to grow and improve, and I think everyone is aligned on that. I always try to focus on the team. The other day I felt the need to defend the club and our players. That\u2019s why people talked about it. The director\u2019s words were clear, respectful and polite. There is no controversy. How does the story regarding my motivation end? I don\u2019t even know myself. We\u2019ll make evaluations at the end, but these are completely normal things. There\u2019s nothing more to say beyond what has already been said. The team dinner with the directors? We had a dinner two weeks ago, just like another one six weeks ago and others before that. These are normal team dynamics. The directors are also part of the team and are extremely important in giving us support, warmth and advice so we can all move in the same direction – finishing as high as possible. He has the ability to cover different areas of the pitch depending on what the team needs. He can play in front of the defence, he defends well in open spaces, he can play one-touch or two-touch football, and he helps in possession because he can carry the ball forward with great power. Those characteristics allow him to get further up the pitch and fully exploit what he has inside him.
