Parma, 28 January 2025<\/em> \u2013 On Holocaust Memorial Day on Monday 27 January, an emotional event was held at the Museo Ernesto Ceresini at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. The event was in remembrance of Renzo Cavallina, a key figure in the history of this football club and in the fight against all forms of discrimination. Various members of the Cavallina family attended the event: Renzo\u2019s daughter Ada, his granddaughters Letizia and Raffaella, as well as his great-grandchildren. A delegation from Parma Calcio was also there, as well as Emiliano Nanni from Figurine Forever, Aned Emilia-Romagna president Giuliana Fornala, FIGC-LND chairman of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Committee, as well as a group of Parma\u2019s youth players, comprised of members of our Women\u2019s Primavera and Men\u2019s U17s.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The event also included the presentation of charity sticker dedicated to Renzo Cavallina, the creation of which was sponsored by Parma Calcio and carried out by Figurine Forever, a timeless symbol in promoting the values of courage and resisting oppression and discrimination. They outlined the importance of keeping historical memory alive and promoting the values of respect and solidarity through sport.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Stefano Perrone <\/strong>said, \u201cThe Holocaust is a part of history which we need to preserved as a bookmark in our collective memory. As a Club, we must have moments like this to share with our boys and girls, updating the message of these historical events which, after 80 years, are still ever-present in today\u2019s society, in which people are still prone to discrimination.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Giuseppe Squarcia <\/strong>added, \u201cIn the history of a football club, some players become legends not only due to what they do on the pitch, but especially for their life choices and moral qualities. Renzo Cavallina is one of them. Our Club remembers him on 27 January every year because one of our values is respect for human rights and opposition to all forms of discrimination. Furthermore, a collection was held at Piazzale Risorgimento, in front of the iconic entrance to the Tardini where Cavallina\u2019s stumbling block is, in memory of his courage.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Parma Calcio would like to states its intent to keep Renzo Cavallina\u2019s memory alive and to spread the values of justice, respect and solidarity, which he embodied.
