Parma, Saturday 25 October 2025 – Parma head coach Carlos Cuesta shared his thoughts after the goalless draw with Como on Matchday 8 of Serie A 2025/26.
“We created a few chances to win but lacked that final touch. Overall, I’m very happy with the performance. Of course, we’d have liked two more points, but we’ll use that frustration and energy to prepare for Rome, where another tough match awaits.
The players gave everything. They always do, not just today. I see the same attitude every day in training. That commitment has become second nature for this group, and I’m glad the fans recognise it. These are the foundations of the Parma we want to build. We’ll keep working hard, because to win – which is always our goal – we have to attack and defend as one, with a shared mentality. I’m convinced this is the right path.”
“Was it our best first half of the season? Possibly – we showed a positive trend and want to build on it. There have been other good moments too, but this is definitely the direction we need to keep following.
Bernabé had an outstanding game – a high-level performance, full of effort and composure. He gave us progression in possession, allowed us to play higher up the pitch, and often got into dangerous areas. His physical data was exceptional too. Hard work always pays off in the end.
As for Delprato, he scored early last season, and I’m sure his moment will come again. Cutrone sacrifices himself for the team, brings great energy, links play well, and causes problems for defences when he gets forward. Ordoñez is very versatile – he can play in different midfield roles and contributed a lot defensively today, especially given it was his first start. Nahuel reads the game superbly and lifts those around him. He did really well both offensively and defensively, and we’re very happy with him.
Beyond tactics or formations, what really matters is the principle of defending together: that never changes. What made the difference today was how we managed possession; we were more effective with the ball. Now we’ll analyse what can be improved and keep building on this.
Did I speak with Fàbregas? Not today, but Como are a top side, and their position in the table confirms that.”
